Job summary

The State of Nevada, DHS - Division of Social Services in Carson City, seeks an IT Professional 3 to maintain and develop Java-based applications. You will design, modify, and test solutions for complex projects, work with other groups to gather requirements, and support UAT and production deployments.

You will mentor junior IT staff, lead technical design efforts, and ensure robust documentation and system reliability across critical production systems using Java and DB2.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or closely related field and three years IT experience; journey level in Nevada State service or equivalent.
• Mentor and supervise IT staff; lead projects and coordinate with other groups.
• Advanced knowledge of Java-based development, tests, and production rollout support.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop new DSS applications in Carson City.
• Design, develop or modify Java applications and test in lower environments.
• Gather requirements, assist with UAT, and support production rollout.
