Job summary

Omm IT Solutions in Bethesda is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, build, and maintain enterprise applications. The role will lead technical implementation, mentor developers, and collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable software.

The ideal candidate will design Java applications using Spring Boot, create REST APIs, optimize database performance, and ensure security and scalability across services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, OO design, and design patterns.
• Experience developing REST APIs and working with relational databases.
• Proficiency with Git, Maven or Gradle, and automated testing frameworks such as JUnit.
• Experience with Agile development and CI/CD processes.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Java applications, REST APIs, and backend services using Spring Boot.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans.
• Develop database integrations and optimize SQL queries and application performance.
• Review code, establish development standards, and mentor junior developers.
• Write unit and integration tests and troubleshoot production issues.
• Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams on testing, releases, and operational readiness.
• Address application security, scalability, and reliability requirements.
