Job summary

Huntington National Bank seeks a Senior Java Developer with Spring Boot, GCP, Kafka, and cloud-architecture expertise to design and support scalable cloud-native applications. The role focuses on building microservices, event-driven solutions, and secure REST APIs in a collaborative, agile environment.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of Java experience, strong DevOps practices, and familiarity with Bigtable and distributed systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business or related field/experience.
5+ years of hands-on experience in Java application development.
Strong experience with Java 8/11/17/21 and Spring Boot for microservices and REST APIs.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, GCP, and Kafka.
Build and support scalable REST APIs.
Develop event-driven solutions using Kafka and cloud-native patterns.
Design data models and optimize performance with Bigtable and related cloud databases.
Understand and implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Collaborate with architecture, infra, security, and product teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and mentoring activities.
Maintain awareness of technical industry trends as they apply to Huntington.
