Job summary

Noblis MSD seeks a Senior Java Developer for a large-scale Navy software project. The role is on-site at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, supporting NAVSEA/ NSWCPD with design, development, and integration of Java-based applications.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of Java experience, familiarity with large multi-module codebases, and strong collaboration skills. Security clearance (Secret) and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as CS, CE, EE, or Software Eng.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Java software applications.
• Support testing, integration, and release activities.
• Work with large existing Java codebases and improve maintainability.
• Review and update existing software as needed.
• Support modernization, refactoring, and performance improvements.
• Participate in code reviews and promote good practices.
• Assist with build, deployment, and release using GitLab/Jira/SonarQube.
• Troubleshoot issues identified during development, integration, or field support.
• Mentor other developers as needed.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across teams.
• Provide design notes, release notes, and installation guidance.
