Job summary

MAS Global Consulting is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join our on-site engineering team. You will design and build robust, scalable backend systems using Java, Apache Kafka, and AWS, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.

You will develop RESTful APIs, implement event-driven architectures, deploy on AWS (EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS), and mentor junior engineers while upholding security and code quality.

Qualifications

• 8 years of backend development experience.
• Strong distributed systems and event-driven architecture knowledge.
• Experience with Git and Agile methodologies.
• Proficient in Java Core, Java 11, JVM internals, and concurrency.

What You'l Do

Design develop and maintain high performance backend services and distributed systems using JavaArchitect and implement event driven solutions using Apache Kafka ensuring reliability scalability and low latencyDeploy configure and manage cloud infrastructure and services on AWS eg EC2 ECS Lambda S3 RDS SQSCollaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutionsDevelop and optimize RESTful APIs and backend application functionalities for high performance and responsivenessWrite and maintain automated tests unit integration E2E and ensure code quality through code reviewsApply security best practices including authentication and authorization mechanisms to protect backend systemsTroubleshoot and resolve production issues ensuring minimal downtime and operational stabilityMentor junior and mid level engineers promoting engineering best practices and a culture of continuous improvementCollaborate with front end DevOps and QA teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of solutions

What You Bring

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field8 years of professional experience in backend software developmentSolid understanding of distributed systems event driven architecture and messaging patternsExperience with version control systems eg Git and agile development methodologiesStrong problem solving skills and a track record of resolving complex production issuesExcellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross functional teamsCandidates must demonstrate strong hands on expertise in all three of the followingJava Core language proficiency Java 11 OOP design patterns multithreading and performance optimization Apache Kafka Event driven architecture producerconsumer configuration topic partitioning schema registry and Kafka Streams or similar Amazon Web Services AWS Cloud infrastructure design and operations including EC2 ECS Lambda S3 RDS SQS and strong JVM internals and concurrency knowledge
