Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a Senior Java Developer to help deliver mission-critical systems across business lines. You will collaborate with Product Owners, QA and DevOps to design and develop scalable web applications in a production environment.

The role requires deep Core Java experience with Spring Boot/MVC and Apache Camel, plus strong DB, CI/CD and documentation skills. Onsite in White Plains, NY with a 12-month engagement.

Qualifications

• BS in computer science, engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of experience building mission critical, high throughput systems.
• Strong Java knowledge with Spring Boot, Spring MVC and Apache Camel.
• Experience with relational databases (MS SQL Server, MySQL, Aurora).
• Experience with Git and Subversion.
• Experience designing and consuming SOAP/REST Web Services.
• Performance tuning and optimization skills.
• Self-driven with minimal supervision.
• Experience on production-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design and develop application solutions and enhancements that meet requirements
• Ensure adherence to programming and enterprise architectural standards
• Complete work assignments and follow up to ensure tasks are completed on time
• Collaborate with product owners, users, and other developers to define requirements and build the web application
• Assist in rollout of new applications, fixes and enhancements
• Support deployments of code and configuration items across environments to production
• Create accurate technical and end-user documentation
• Support QA with automation and scripting efforts
