Conduent is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, build, and support mission-critical healthcare PBM and POS platforms. You’ll work across distributed teams to deliver scalable microservices, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software development experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong Java/J2EE, Spring and Spring Boot expertise; REST/SOAP services.
• Experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of OAuth2, SAML and OpenID authentication protocols.
• Front-end basics: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS; DevOps: Git, Maven, CI/CD.

Senior Java Developer - Healthcare / PBM Platform (Remote)

About the Role

The Senior Java Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting mission-critical applications for pharmacy benefit management and point-of-sale platforms. This role works across distributed teams to build scalable microservices, troubleshoot issues, and deliver high-quality solutions. The position requires strong technical depth, independent execution, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Java-based applications and microservices
• Build scalable solutions for high-performance transaction systems
• Develop and support event-driven applications and integrations using Apache Kafka
• Collaborate in Agile ceremonies including planning, estimations, and design sessions
• Partner with product and project teams to provide technical estimates and updates
• Troubleshoot complex production and system issues
• Drive development tasks independently with minimal supervision
• Work with distributed teams across multiple time zones
• Report critical issues clearly and proactively
• Support system architecture and hands-on development as needed
• Conduct peer code reviews and mentor junior developers
• Ensure adherence to security standards and best practices

Requirements

• Demonstrate 6+ years of software development experience
• Demonstrate strong expertise in Java, J2EE, JDBC, Spring, and Spring Boot
• Build applications using web services (SOAP/REST) and microservices architecture
• Demonstrate hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven/messaging architectures
• Utilize frameworks such as Struts, Spring MVC, and ESB technologies (Camel/Fuse)
• Apply authentication protocols including OAuth2, SAML, and OpenID
• Develop front-end components using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and modern frameworks
• Use repositories and DevOps tools such as Git, SVN, Maven, Bamboo, and Jenkins
• Write optimized Oracle SQL queries
• Solve complex technical problems and learn new technologies quickly
• Apply knowledge of system design, architecture, and security best practices
• Work with distributed teams and manage priorities independently
• Demonstrate at least 3+ years of U.S.-based experience
• Hold 10+ years of overall industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure configurations is a strong plus
• Familiarity with AWS, Hibernate, and Spring Batch
• Experience with Airflow or similar data processing tools
• Experience in healthcare, Medicaid, claims, pharmacy benefits, or insurance platforms

The estimated salary range for this role is ($96,250 - $125,000)
