Job summary

Jefferies is seeking a senior developer to design and build their high-performance FI E-Trading platform, collaborating with traders and quants to electronically execute orders across multiple ECNs. You will contribute to architecture, scalability, and reliability in a fast-paced trading environment.

Requires 5+ years in financial services, front office trading system experience, and strong Java and KDB/Q skills. FIX knowledge and message routing familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 5 years of financial service experience and effective desk communication.
• Strong design, coding, testing and debugging skills.
• Front office trading system experience with emphasis on E-Trading and FIX knowledge.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design & development of firm’s proprietary, high performance FI E-Trading platform encompassing fixed income all products (Credits/Rates)
• Understand RUN, Axes, RFQs workflow for Dealer to Client markets such as MarketAxess, TradeWeb, Bloomberg.
• Work alongside traders and quantitative analysts to specify and build out real-time trading applications that electronically execute orders across multiple ECNs.
• Supporting and enhancing existing infrastructure and application across a variety of technologies (ION, Java, KDB/Q)
• Drive implementation and design with emphasis on high availability, scalability and reusability
• Working with other Fixed Income front office teams lead to promote framework reusability across all business
• Champion best practice software development life cycle with emphasis in test driven coding methodology
• Balance time to market (client delivery) with proper governance, compliance and audit mandates
• Mentor junior developer

Education

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related

Required Background:

• 5 years of financial service experience
• Able to communicate effectively with the desk.
• Strong design, coding, testing and debugging skills
• Strong experience in front office trading system with emphasis on E-Trading
• Programming Languages – Java (10 years), Python a plus.
• Must have general Fixed Income Pricing and Analytic knowledge
• Must have strong multithreaded programming experience
• Must have knowledge of Credit Buy-Side/Sell-Side market structure
• Knowledge of FIX protocol a plus
• Knowledge of ION or Broadway API a plus
• Knowledge of KDB/Q a Strong plus

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of $175,000 – $225,000.
