Job summary

Talan is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Electronic Pricing to support a financial services client in New York City. This hybrid role requires on-site presence at least three days per week and involves building an external pricing API for the Sales desk using Java-based services.

You will design pricing services, integrate REST APIs with pricing engines, and collaborate with Sales, Trading, IT, and other technology teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of software development experience.
• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of application and integration architecture.
• Ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
• Familiarity with Equity products, particularly options and derivatives.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor degree in Computer science, Engineering, Finance or Quantitative finance.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Electronic Pricingto support a financial services client on a new initiative focused on building an external pricing API for the Sales desk.

The objective is to develop a Java-based solution enabling Sales teams to respond to client pricing requests in near real time. The application will connect to existing pricing engines and services through APIs, retrieve pricing information, and generate outputs for downstream and client-facing applications.

This is a senior, business-facing position requiring strong technical expertise combined with the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
