Job summary

APPS Consultants Inc in Seattle is seeking a Java software developer to participate in the full engineering lifecycle. The role focuses on building core-platform code in Java, with exposure to Python, Groovy, and JavaScript.

You will deploy to our cloud infrastructure, troubleshoot production issues, and work in an Agile team with product owners to deliver scalable software solutions, while influencing technical direction and collaborating with Product Management and Sales.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software development experience including Java and Unix.
• Experience developing and deploying software in distributed environments.
• Experience with build systems, unit testing, version control, task/defect management, and Agile approaches.

Job Overview

As a Java software developer focused on the Financial Services sector for APPS Consultants Inc, you will participate in all aspects of the engineering life cycle. Our primary language is Java, but we welcome experience with other languages such as Python, Groovy and JavaScript.

Responsibilities

• Write fully testable core‑platform code.
• Deploy software to our cloud infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot problems in production.
• Work within an agile development environment with other developers and product owners to scope, develop and deliver world‑class software solutions.
• Influence or lead projects and the technical direction of the product.
• Work directly with Product Management and Sales to design and develop new product features.

Required Qualifications

• Experience with the tools required in a development life cycle: build (Maven, Gradle), unit testing (JUnit, TestNG), version control (Git), task and defect management (Jira), and Agile development approaches.

Desired Qualifications

• Proficiency with Git as a version control system.
• Experience with Python, Ruby & JavaScript.
• Experience with NoSQL solutions such as Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis.
• Capital Markets/Asset Management Solutions Development Experience.
• Experience working in a SCRUM team.
• Ability to develop scalable systems.
