Job summary

TriCom Technical Services is seeking a Sr. Java Software Engineer to join a backend team supporting complex billing and payment processing applications.

This technical leader will collaborate with solution architects, mentor junior developers, and draft innovative solutions for large-scale problems. The role requires 6+ years of Java experience, strong Spring/Spring Boot, solid SQL, Git, and CI/CD expertise within an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Proficiency with Spring and Spring Boot.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience.
• Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently and lead technically without direct management responsibility.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend Java applications and web services.
• Work within a complex legacy codebase to troubleshoot non-obvious issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with solution architects on larger technical problems and propose approaches.
• Write and optimize SQL against a relational database.
• Provide technical mentorship to less experienced developers.
• Participate fully in Scrum ceremonies and collaborate daily with team members, QA, and the Scrum Master.
