Job summary

Upcom is seeking a skilled Java Back-End Developer for a hybrid project with a leading energy sector client. You will design and build backend microservices using Java 21 and Spring Boot, and create RESTful APIs with clear error handling and OpenAPI documentation.

You will implement gRPC services, leverage Kafka for event-driven architecture, and integrate with systems like Salesforce and SAP ISU. Security is key with OAuth2/OIDC and RBAC, plus extensive testing and Agile practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong Java (preferably Java 21) and Spring Boot experience.
• Experience with Kafka-based event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native tooling.
• Knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC and RBAC for security.
• Experience with unit/integration testing (JUnit 5, Mockito).
• Experience working in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend microservices using Java 21 and Spring Boot.
• Build RESTful APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger docs and error handling.
• Implement gRPC services and Protobuf schemas.
• Develop event-driven solutions with Kafka consumers/producers.
• Integrate with external systems (Salesforce, SAP ISU, etc.).
• Ensure secure auth via OAuth2/OIDC with RBAC.
• Write unit/integration tests and perform code reviews.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Docker/Kubernetes deployments.
• Adhere to regulatory requirements and anti-bribery policies.
