Job summary

Veriipro is seeking an experienced Java backend engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable services. You will build RESTful APIs, microservices, and robust backend architectures using Java/Spring Boot, with strong SQL skills and ORM experience.

Collaboration across teams and participation in Agile ceremonies are essential. You will troubleshoot production issues, contribute to code reviews, and ensure code quality with unit/integration testing while driving performance and reliability

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience with strong hands-on experience in Java.
• Strong proficiency in Java 8+, including object-oriented programming, collections, multithreading, exception handling, and Java APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Spring MVC.
• Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Good understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Experience with JPA/Hibernate or similar ORM technologies.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito.
• Strong understanding of Git and software development best practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java backend applications and services.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Analyze requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
• Design backend architectures focused on scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Develop SQL database solutions and work with relational databases.
• Troubleshoot application, API, database, and production issues.
• Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to developers.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and develop unit/integration tests.
• Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, architects, and stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and discussions.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments and production releases.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance and reliability.
