Job summary

ELEKS is seeking an experienced Senior Java Engineer to join a world-class digital platform project in Chicago. You will design and implement enterprise Java applications using Java 17+ and Spring, building scalable backend systems and RESTful APIs for a diverse set of services.

Office attendance in downtown Chicago is required. The role emphasizes CI/CD, DevOps practices, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-availability solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years designing and developing enterprise Java applications (5+ years with Master’s).
• Strong expertise in Java 17+ and backend development.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on with Spring Boot and Spring ecosystem.
• Knowledge of MVC, Microservices, and Event-driven Architecture.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and API tools (OpenAPI/Swagger, Postman).
• Strong AWS knowledge (IAM, API Gateway, Aurora, DynamoDB, Kinesis, S3, CloudWatch, Lambda, Fargate, SQS, SNS, KMS).
• Experience with messaging/event streaming (Kinesis, SQS, SNS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ).
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps (Jenkins or similar).
