Job summary

A software development company is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer to design and develop backend systems for mobile applications. The role requires extensive experience in J2EE development, web services, and database design. Candidates must have a strong technical background, including skills in SOAP/XML, REST/JSON, and IBM Rational Products. This onsite position involves leading projects, mentoring team members, and ensuring quality standards in backend development. First round interviews will be in-person only.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of education from an accredited institution.
• 10+ years of experience with J2EE applications development.
• 5+ years in web services design & development (SOAP/XML and REST/JSON).
• 8+ years of relational database development using SQL.
• 5+ years with IBM Rational Products (RSA, RTC, WAS).
• 2+ years with IBM Integrated Bus and Websphere Message Broker.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of backend systems for mobile applications.
• Expertise in backend systems and protocols, including WMB and IIB.
• Propose solutions based on business and technical requirements.
• Participate in architecting, designing and developing application components.
• Develop and document standards and reusable components.
• Participate in project planning and resource leveling.
• Mentor team members on processes and standards.
• Design and create database schemas in DB2 and Oracle.
• Perform server-side code reviews.
• Support product deployment and validation.
