Job summary

Programmers is seeking an experienced Java Architect to design and lead the development of enterprise-scale applications in Charlotte, NC. You will drive technology decisions around Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices to build cloud-native, high-performance solutions.

The role requires hands-on architecture leadership, collaboration with business and tech teams, and a focus on performance, security, and scalable delivery through DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of IT experience with strong hands-on expertise in Java.
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud.
• Strong experience designing and implementing Microservices Architecture.
• Expertise in RESTful APIs, API Gateway, and service integration.
• Experience with Kafka, JMS, and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and containerized deployments.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of Design Patterns, SOLID principles, and Enterprise Architecture.
• Experience with OAuth2, JWT, SSO, and application security best practices.
• Strong problem-solving, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Define technical roadmaps, architecture standards, and best practices.
• Lead application modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Conduct architecture reviews and mentor development teams.
