Job summary

Openkyber is seeking a Senior Java AI Developer to design, develop, and modernize enterprise-scale applications. Hybrid schedule with onsite in Southlake, TX and Austin, TX; remote options vary.

You will build scalable Java microservices, integrate AI-assisted tooling, and drive cloud-native architectures. The ideal candidate combines deep Java expertise with experience in AI-enabled SDLC, cloud platforms, and event-driven systems.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support enterprise-grade Java applications using modern software engineering practices.
• Build scalable microservices and REST-based APIs supporting high-volume transaction processing.
• Utilize AI-enabled development tools to accelerate implementation, testing, documentation, code reviews, troubleshooting, and modernization efforts.
• Lead application modernization initiatives from legacy platforms to cloud-native architectures.
• Implement event-driven solutions utilizing Kafka, messaging frameworks, and distributed system design patterns.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD practices, and performance optimization.
• Mentor developers and promote adoption of AI-assisted engineering best practices.
• Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
