Job summary

Torch Technologies is seeking a Software Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) Engineer to support evaluation, verification, and validation of software used in Department of War missile and radar systems and other mission-critical platforms. Position emphasizes software integrity, airworthiness, and lifecycle assurance across systems.

Responsibilities include collaboration with cross-functional teams, development of verification artifacts, and independent IV&V activities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of applicable experience with progressively complex software design engineering.
• Experience or academic background in IV&V, software analysis, or software assurance.
• Understanding of software development lifecycles and verification methodologies.
• Active secret clearance is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate software compliance with airworthiness, safety, cybersecurity, and quality requirements.
• Assess software integrity, robustness, reliability, and risk.
• Conduct software analysis of requirements, design, code, and test artifacts.
• Review software engineering artifacts for correctness, completeness, traceability, and consistency.
• Identify software anomalies, risks, and non-conformances; document findings and support resolution.
• Support system reviews, certification activities, audits, and program milestones.
• Utilize or develop software automation tools to support verification and analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Assist with artifact reviews, test analysis, and documentation.
• Learn DoD processes, missile and radar system concepts, and applicable standards.
• Perform IV&V activities independently on complex systems.
• Interface with program stakeholders and customers.
• Drive continuous improvement and technical best practices.
