Role Responsibilities

• Production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects.
• Consulting with the project manager to perform research, development, calculations, design, and delivery.
• Applying engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for complex, cross-discipline projects.
• Leveraging technical knowledge to address design issues, working closely with the project manager, clients, and completing tasks to meet schedules.
• Developing conceptual and detailed designs and calculations using current tools and software.
• Mentoring, training, and reviewing work of junior engineers.
• Contributing to successful project delivery across diverse projects.

What You'll Do

• Utilize senior-level technical expertise for a broad range of engineering solutions.
• Lead planning, work distribution, and adherence to schedule and budget on complex projects.
• Assist in marketing, including proposal generation.
• Develop scope of work and manage project scope and budget.
• Oversee the technical accuracy of the team’s work.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Coordinate with clients and team members on technical aspects.
• Lead discipline delivery on larger, multi-disciplinary projects.
• Assist with scheduling and work distribution across disciplines.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8 years relevant experience, or
• Master’s degree in Engineering with 7 years relevant experience, or
• PhD in Engineering with 6 years relevant experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Perform ITS/Traffic Engineering and design assignments supporting various clients.
• Develop construction drawings and specifications for ITS, traffic signals, lighting projects.
• Proficient in the design of roadside systems including CCTV, DMS, vehicle detection, and connected vehicle systems.
• Experience in ITS and Signalization operations.
• Assist in post-design oversight, shop drawing reviews, and field visits.
• Develop scope of services and RFP packages for ITS projects.
• Coordinate with internal teams, subconsultants, and clients.

Additional Preferences

• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with transportation projects in South Florida.
