AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior ITS Engineer in Orlando, FL to advance toll roadway and transportation technology projects from concept through construction support. You will apply ITS and traffic engineering expertise in a client-facing role, coordinating design activities and guiding technical decisions.

You will develop communications systems, review construction quantities, and support field investigations while collaborating with client staff and consultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering.
• Eight+ years of relevant experience including FDOT ITS design.
• Florida PE license or eligible for Florida registration within six months.
• Experience with toll facilities and express or managed lanes preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office, MicroStation, and AutoCAD.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to lead meetings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate communications systems linking field devices with traffic management centers (Gigabit Ethernet, fiber).
• Coordinate design plans, specifications, criteria, and reports for ITS projects.
• Prepare construction quantities and cost/staff-hour estimates.
• Perform field investigations of ITS facilities and site conditions.
• Support construction-phase services including shop drawing reviews and RFI responses.
• Coordinate schedules and technical work across multi-discipline teams; represent the client.

## Senior ITS EngineerApply: US.FL.Orlando.482 S Keller Rd: Full time: Posted Yesterday: R-166990### **Job Description**## **Overview**We are seeking a **Senior ITS Engineer** to join our team in **Orlando, Florida**, supporting Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise as an extension of the client’s staff. In this role, you will help deliver toll roadway and transportation technology projects from concept through final design and construction support.## **Your role****You will apply your ITS and traffic engineering experience in a client-facing environment, coordinating design activities, guiding technical decisions, and supporting projects through design and construction.*** Develop and evaluate communications systems connecting field devices with traffic management centers, including Gigabit Ethernet, fiber optic, and related network technologies.* Coordinate, manage, prepare, and review conceptual, preliminary, and final ITS design plans, specifications, technical criteria, concept reports, scopes, and inspection documentation.* Prepare and review construction quantities, cost estimates, and staff-hour estimates for proposed ITS work.* Perform field investigations and inspections to document and evaluate existing ITS facilities and site conditions.* Support construction-phase services, including shop drawing reviews, responses to requests for information, field coordination, and inspection report reviews.* Coordinate schedules and technical work across project team members and other disciplines on multidiscipline projects; review work for quality and consistency.* Work full time in the client’s office, collaborating closely with client staff, consultants, and project teams.* Represent the client in project meetings, communicate engineering direction, make recommendations on traffic and ITS design issues, and document and share meeting outcomes with appropriate staff.## **About you*** Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering.* At least eight years of relevant experience, including a minimum of three years of FDOT ITS design experience.* Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida, or current registration in another state with the ability to obtain Florida registration within six months.* Working knowledge of the FDOT Design Manual, FDOT Design Standards, FDOT Traffic Engineering Manual, MUTCD, and other applicable design criteria and standards.* Experience with toll facilities and express or managed lanes is preferred.* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, MicroStation, and AutoCAD.* Strong technical writing, presentation, listening, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead meetings, explain technical concepts, build effective working relationships, and represent the client professionally.* Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities and multiple concurrent projects.* Ability to travel within Florida, including occasional overnight travel, as needed to support the client.## **Rewards & benefits**At AtkinsRéalis, our values—Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, Innovation, and Excellence—are more than just words.
