Job summary

Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA seeks an IT Enterprise System Administrator III to manage Microsoft 365, Active Directory, EntraID, Azure, AWS, Windows and Linux servers, and storage systems. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of hybrid Windows/Unix system administration experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, EntraID, Azure, AWS, Active Directory, DNS.
• Strong analytical, verbal and written communication; customer service.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware VCF) and on-prem/cloud storage.

Responsibilities

• Administers complex configuration, installation, and maintenance of operating systems and upgrades.
• Diagnose hardware and software problems and implement rollback plans.
• Designs, deploys, and documents build processes for servers and applications in cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Manages Active Directory, EntraID, DNS, and group policies.
• Maintains backups and storage systems; ensures data protection and disaster recovery.
• Collaborates with desktop support and vendors to resolve issues and implement solutions.
