Job summary

Crane Company is seeking a Systems Engineer to plan and design the IT infrastructure, spanning on-prem data center and cloud environments. You will design, implement, patch, and manage compute and networking, ensuring uptime and security for critical business systems.

Responsibilities include leading projects, enforcing compliance, and guiding backups and disaster recovery. Strong documentation and ability to work with multiple teams are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in systems engineering in a medium to high volume environment.
• Experience with hypervisors, cloud and on-prem compute, networks, storage, and backups.
• Strong documentation skills and ability to lead projects.
• Ability to work independently or in a team and deliver complete projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, patch, and manage data center and cloud tech (Azure, Nutanix, VMware).
• Manage networking across LAN, WAN, wireless, Internet, and virtual networks.
• Ensure uptime of critical systems and remediate infrastructure issues.
• Implement, patch, and manage security appliances (firewalls).
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and improvements to existing systems.
• Protect data assets and oversee backup procedures.
• Lead disaster recovery design and support for key systems.
• Lead projects and assist other IT teams.
• Identify issues, monitor trends, and anticipate requirements.
• Ensure regulatory compliance including Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Design and support monitoring, alerting, and automation for critical systems.
• Manage identity in Azure AD including groups, OU structures, and domain services.
• User Endpoint management including PC and application deployment.
• Maintain strategic plans for infrastructure technologies.
• Provide training and documentation to IT staff.
