Job summary

SAIC seeks an IT Specialist to maintain critical network, system, and communication technologies across WAN/LAN and related infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable performance for users and mission partners.

The role emphasizes hands-on work with routers, switches, VTCs, phones, laptops, and security controls, with collaboration across IT teams and DoD stakeholders. Shift work may be required to support USSOCOM missions.

Qualifications

• Solid technical skills across network protocols, software, and hardware involved in IT Specialist operations.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, tune, test, operate, monitor, upgrade, patch, troubleshoot, and manage WAN and LAN routing and switching hardware and software.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and manage PC hardware and software within the WAN/LAN infrastructure.
• Support and repair LAN/WAN capabilities, including point-to-point circuits, satellite connectivity, dedicated and broadband Internet connections, and related devices.
• Configure, operate, maintain, defend, and troubleshoot LAN Programs of Record (PORs).
• Manage IT infrastructures across USSOCOM, Component Commands, TSOCs, and deployed forces, including updates to routers, switches, circuits, and encryption devices.
• Maintain and repair VLAN architectures.
• Configure, maintain, defend, and troubleshoot classified and unclassified wireless LANs and wireless access points.
• Provision and manage secure LAN/WAN VPN services for remote elements and mission partners, ensuring compliance with DoD, DIA, DISA, USCYBERCOM, and USSOCOM policies.
• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN voice, data, and transmission networks and assess impact of architectural changes.
• Implement and maintain network and security access controls.
• Update, monitor, manage, troubleshoot, and document routers and switches across USSOCOM LAN/WAN networks.
• Coordinate with Government and commercial circuit providers to expedite restoration of circuit outages.
• Support mobile devices and CSfC kits.
