Job summary
Garmin International seeks a Senior IT Software Engineer in Olathe, KS to contribute across the full development lifecycle. You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications and integrations, and mentor junior engineers.
You will work with Java, SQL and microservices, participate in SDLC, and aid in evaluating new technologies to improve existing systems within Garmin's Engineering, Operations and Sales functions.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in CS/IT/MIS with at least 3 years' software engineering experience.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years' relevant experience.
- Experience in designing/developing front-end and back-end components using Java, SQL, Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
Responsibilities
- Provides input to solution development plans and collaborates in design reviews.
- Develops and supports integrations between multiple systems/applications.
- Maintains and extends existing multi-system software and collaborates with Analysts/users on testing.
- Mentors junior IT Software Engineers (Software Engineer 1 & 2).
- Designs and develops enterprise applications including PLM as part of an SDLC process.
- Participates in project definition activities and evaluates system tradeoffs.
