Job summary

Arista in Austin seeks a Senior Manager - IT Security to lead a seasoned security team responsible for protecting company assets and data. You will guide the development and execution of the organization’s cybersecurity strategy, ensuring it aligns with business goals and regulatory requirements.

You will mentor staff, partner with the CISO team, oversee security controls (FIrewalls, SIEM, vulnerability tools), and drive risk-based decisions.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years in IT security with 5+ years in leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certifications preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems; master’s preferred.

  • We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Manager - IT Security to join our Information Technology organization

  • In this critical role, you will lead a team of IT professionals responsible for implementing and maintaining the security infrastructure and technologies that protect our company’s sensitive information and assets

  • You will work closely with the CISO team and other senior leaders to develop and execute the company’s cybersecurity strategy, ensuring that it aligns with business objectives and regulatory requirements

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to the IT security team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement

  • Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their full potential

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization, ensuring effective communication and collaboration

  • Work closely with the CISO team to develop and execute the company’s cybersecurity strategy, ensuring that it aligns with business objectives and regulatory requirements

  • Identify, assess, and prioritize security risks, developing mitigation plans and implementing security controls to protect the company’s assets

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security technologies and tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, vulnerability scanners, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security technologies and tools

  • Develop and maintain incident response plans, ensuring that the team is prepared to respond effectively to security incidents

  • Lead the investigation and resolution of significant security incidents, working with stakeholders to minimize the impact and prevent future occurrences

  • Conduct post-incident reviews to identify lessons learned and improve the incident response process

  • Ensure compliance with relevant security standards, regulations, and policies

  • Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions

  • Develop and maintain risk management frameworks, ensuring that risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to drive success, while actively participating in reporting cycles, and monthly/ quarterly status reviews as required

A minimum of 15 years of experience in IT security, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacityA Strong Security practitioner with analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentFamiliarity with relevant security standards, regulations, and policiesCISSP, CISM, or other relevant security certifications are preferredStrong understanding of business objectives and the ability to align security initiatives with business goalsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related fieldStrong understanding of security technologies, tools, and best practicesExperience with incident response and managementProven track record of developing and implementing security strategies and programsExcellent leadership and communication skillsA master’s degree in Cybersecurity or a related field is preferred
