Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC is hiring a Senior IT Security Engineer in Houston, with a hybrid work arrangement (4:1). The role focuses on strengthening controls across endpoints, networks, applications, and cloud environments, while translating complex threats into practical protections.

You will mentor junior engineers, troubleshoot advanced security issues, and communicate risk clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Relevant certifications are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, MIS, IT, or related field preferred, not required.
• Security+ or equivalent certifications preferred, not required.
• 5+ years of progressive cybersecurity engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and maintain security solutions across endpoint, network, application, and cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex security issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and share best practices across the team.
• Monitor evolving threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques and translate them into actionable defenses.
• Communicate security risks, controls, and processes clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Partner with IT and business teams to ensure security is embedded in everything we do.
