Job summary

Onto Innovation is seeking a Sr. Systems & Infrastructure Engineer to join a security-first IT team spanning on-premises, hybrid cloud, and modern cloud environments.

You will manage VMware, data center ops, cloud governance, M365, Intune, and AI-enabled automation while improving security posture and incident response. The role emphasizes Agile delivery, IaC pipelines, DR planning, and cross-functional collaboration with InfoSec, DevOps, and application teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of enterprise systems administration or engineering experience.
• Expertise with VMware vSphere/ESXi and virtual infrastructure management.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and cloud-managed endpoint operations.
• Strong background administering Microsoft 365 services in a hybrid environment.
• Proficiency with Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms, including governance and IaC.
• Experience with Rubrik, Rubrik Orchestrator, and/or Zerto for DR automation.
• Solid knowledge of Active Directory/Entra ID and hybrid identity.
• Experience with enterprise storage (Pure Storage, HPE, Cloudian, Komprise).
• Familiarity with vulnerability management, patching, and compliance (SOX/GDPR/ISO27001).
• Experience in Agile/Kanban environments using Azure DevOps or similar.

Responsibilities

• Lead VMware vSphere/ESXi architecture, cluster operations, lifecycle mgmt, and performance tuning.
• Support HPE Synergy compute infrastructure, firmware updates, and template mgmt.
• Administer storage platforms (Pure, HPE) and Cloudian object storage; capacity planning.
• Support data lifecycle with Komprise and optimize file tiering.
• Participate in data center planning, hardware refresh, and power/rack design.
• Manage PKI, certificates, and CA operations.
• Administer and optimize Azure/AWS, including IaC pipelines and cost governance.
• Manage cloud networking, VMs, storage accounts, and security groups.
• Support hybrid DR architectures and failover workflows.
• Implement tagging, RBAC controls, and cloud governance standards.
• Contribute to FinOps with cost attribution and rightsizing.
• Administer M365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID).
• Manage Intune and Autopilot for zero-touch provisioning.
• Design and operate Autopilot deployment profiles.
