Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer with a strong combination of passive infrastructure, data center operations, enterprise infrastructure, and technical project management expertise.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with fiber-optic and copper cabling installation, testing, quality assurance, and infrastructure planning, along with a strong understanding of data center operations. This role will lead infrastructure initiatives from planning and construction through implementation and operational support while ensuring solutions meet enterprise standards for availability, security, scalability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, implementation, and operational support of enterprise IT and data center infrastructure projects.
• Plan and oversee fiber-optic and copper cabling installations, testing, quality assurance, documentation, and infrastructure expansion.
• Coordinate data center infrastructure construction and deployment activities, working closely with vendors, contractors, facilities, and IT teams.
• Manage complex infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery on schedule and within budget.
• Deploy, configure, maintain, and support enterprise servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and related infrastructure.
• Serve as an SME for infrastructure technologies, including AWS, Azure, SAN/NAS storage, virtualization, and infrastructure security.
• Support data center availability through redundancy, backup, disaster recovery, capacity planning, monitoring, and proactive problem resolution.
• Manage infrastructure lifecycle activities, including upgrades, patching, migrations, expansions, and decommissioning.
• Apply cybersecurity standards covering firewalls, access controls, intrusion prevention, encryption, and infrastructure hardening.
• Support cloud infrastructure using IaaS and PaaS technologies.
• Manage ITIL processes, including change, incident, and configuration management.
• Ensure infrastructure solutions comply with enterprise security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage external suppliers and service providers supporting infrastructure implementation and operations.
• Maintain infrastructure designs, configurations, standards, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Evaluate new technologies and conduct proof-of-concept assessments for automation, cloud-native technologies, and AI-driven IT operations.
• Collaborate with global IT teams to standardize infrastructure processes and engineering practices.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
• Communicate infrastructure plans, risks, technical recommendations, and project status to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT infrastructure engineering experience.
• 5+ years supporting enterprise infrastructure such as servers, storage, virtualization, security, and related technologies.
• Strong experience with fiber-optic and copper cabling infrastructure, including installation, testing, QA, troubleshooting, and planning.
• Experience supporting data center environments and associated infrastructure.
• Experience managing IT infrastructure construction or implementation projects.
• 3+ years of IT project management experience.
• 3+ years demonstrating strong communication skills within technical IT environments.
• 3+ years of technical or junior leadership experience on IT projects.
• 2+ years of supplier/vendor management experience.
• 1+ years of cloud technology experience, including IaaS and/or PaaS.
• Understanding of AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with SAN/NAS storage and enterprise server environments.
• Knowledge of high availability, backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, and capacity planning.
• Understanding of cybersecurity controls and enterprise security practices.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies.

Education

One of the following combinations is preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Associate degree with relevant professional IT experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and substantial hands-on IT infrastructure experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• ITIL certification.
• IT infrastructure, architecture, cloud, or other relevant technology certifications.
• Six Sigma / LEAN experience.
• 5S/6S methodology knowledge.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise or highly structured data center environments.
• Experience coordinating global or cross-functional infrastructure initiatives.
