Job description

Senior IT/HCM Business Analyst – Workday Focus

Location: Chicago, IL – onsite 3 days/week in the loop; work from home 2 days/week

Summary:

The Senior HCM Business Analyst will focus on HCM optimization and HCM support (your time will be split about 50/50). We're looking for folks that have experience driving HCM (ideally Workday) product enhancements, from a requirements, configuration, support, and data standpoint. You'll report to the HCM Portfolio Manager, who is responsible for owning the strategy and execution around the HCM Portfolio that your role will be supporting.

HCM Optimization:
  • Driving requirements related to the Workday HCM/HRIS environment, and play a key role in market research to ensure we're driving best in class features, workflows, and reports to support our HR department and entire employee base.
  • You will meet with key stakeholders to gather requirements, document requirements, research solutions that match these requirements, analyze the various options, and make recommendations based on your analysis.

HCM Support:

Manage HCM configurations, assist with managing HCM data, including report generation, and provide business support to end users.

What you'll be doing:
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand and prioritize their needs.
  • Analyze and consolidate all perspectives on the project – business needs, requirements, user experience, security, training, risk, time, cost, technology architecture, procurement/vendor management, operational considerations, etc. – to help us reach the best technology decisions.
  • Manage the lifecycle of their assigned products, from inception to implementation, throughout production until retirement/upgrade.
  • Gather business requirements from project stakeholders to further define goals and objectives.
  • Drive projects and business teams toward achieving intended business results within a specified time and budget.
  • Stay abreast of best practices at other companies and applicable technology developments.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders to influence the company's technology decisions based on this knowledge.
  • Seek input of user experience and document current procedures and processes to determine potential improvements to their assigned products.
  • Perform risk analyses and testing activities to identify and resolve critical path issues.
  • Prepare, analyze, and validate program/project related data.
  • Review and report on program/project status.
  • Prepare materials for briefings and presentations to key decision makers at the executive level.

Skills we're seeking:
  • 5+ years of experience with IT Business Analysis, Product Management, and/or HCM/HRIS Analysis.
  • Experience with requirements gathering as it relates to HCM.
  • Experience with HHRIS/CM configurations.
  • Experience with HRIS/HCM support.
  • Proficiency with Word and Excel (there will likely be an assessment during the interview process on Word and Excel).

Nice to haves:
  • Experience with Workday HCM – more modules the better, but similar HCM experience is also fine.
  • PeopleSoft HRIS experience (we're moving away from PeopleSoft to Workday to be clear).
  • SQL experience.
  • Experience managing Technical/Functional Specification Documents.
  • Experience with HCM product testing.
  • Experience with JIRA.
  • Bachelor's Degree, ideally in an IT or HR related discipline.
