Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Senior IT Engineer to join the IT Server Technologies department in Columbus. You will engineer, implement, optimize, and manage enterprise infrastructure platforms with a focus on storage and backup, collaborating across architects, engineers, and vendor partners.

The ideal candidate has substantial experience in storage solutions (Dell, Cohesity, Pure Storage), hybrid cloud, and ITIL processes, with strong leadership and analytical skills to support enterprise-scale

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 8+ years of technical engineering experience.
• Expertise in IT infrastructure technologies incl. storage, servers, networking, security.
• Experience with enterprise-scale infrastructure in a matrixed healthcare environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate operations including crisis management, change management, and release management.
• Contribute to technology strategy and standards for infrastructure technologies.
• Analyze and plan administrative, operational, and financial initiatives (TCO, optimization).
• Manage suppliers and vendors, with dashboards and status reporting.
• Plan and monitor operating and capital budgets for areas of responsibility.

Key responsibilities include platform engineering, lifecycle management, capacity planning, monitoring, system resilience, standards development, technical analysis, and strategic planning.The Senior IT Engineer will work closely with operational support teams to provide technical direction, oversight, and escalation support for daily activities as needed.Preferred experience includes Dell PowerScale, Dell PowerStore, Cohesity, Pure Storage, Cisco MDS SAN, and hybrid cloud infrastructure.The ideal candidate will bring strong technical engineering expertise, infrastructure design experience, collaboration skills, and a proven ability to support enterprise-scale infrastructure environments within a highly matrixed organization.Responsibilities And Duties:40% - OperationsWorks with internal customers and 3rd party vendors to communicate, coordinate, manage expectations, approve, and assist with operational processes such as crisis management, support escalation, change management, release management, capacity management, and other ITIL processes20% - Technology StrategyAssists and sometimes leads the development of technology strategy and roadmap within a given area of specialty including design, documentation, communication, and implementation of new or existing standards for infrastructure technologies while remaining current on industry trends10% - Research and AnalysisAnalyzes, plans, justifies, schedules, and coordinates the implementation and maintenance of the specialty area’s administrative, operational, and financial initiatives including TCO, optimization, and efficiency25% - Supplier ManagementWorks with suppliers and, when needed, vendors to produce outcomes consistent with organizational strategy.
