Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) is hiring an IT Engineer to architect, build, and operate the systems, infrastructure, and platforms powering the firm. Based in San Francisco or Menlo Park, you will handle complex issues, lead security programs, and drive SaaS integrations across US time zones.

The ideal candidate has deep technical knowledge across MacOS, Windows, iOS, Android, and a breadth of SaaS apps; experience with conference room A/V and live event support is a plus.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in systems, networking, or security engineering
• Growth mindset, tech-native, resourceful, proactive attitude
• Strong general troubleshooting skills
• Critical thinking mindset to analyze complex problems
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work effectively with senior levels of the organization
• Prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Strong MacOS and Windows skills
• Strong iOS skills; Android preferred
• Experience administering a wide breadth of SaaS tools
• Experience with client platform engineering tools (Jamf, Kandji, Intune)

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and secure all IT systems and the SaaS stack
• Lead IT projects, coordinating cross-functional teams
• Uphold and improve the firm’s IT security posture
• Build and scale IT automations using scripting and APIs
• Architect and evolve endpoint management and identity platforms
• Manage vendor relationships for support and staying abreast of developments
• Publish high quality documentation and knowledge base articles
• Serve as technical escalation point for complex issues
• Provide executive-level guidance and support
• Build long-term relationships and manage priorities across projects
