Job summary

Space Ground System Solutions, Inc. seeks an IT & DevOps Operations Manager to lead on-site IT and DevSecOps efforts at a southern Maryland facility.

You will serve as a principal liaison between government sponsors, program stakeholders, and delivery teams to craft clear roadmaps and ensure mission-aligned IT services. You will implement ITSM (FitSM/ITIL), consolidate diverse DevOps leads into a disciplined delivery engine, and manage budgets, licenses, and cloud resources for uptime and

Qualifications

Active DoD Secret clearance with eligibility for DoD TS/SCI
US citizenship is required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, plus 15 years of related experience
At least 15 years delivering IT and software solutions in heterogeneous environments
Experience budgeting and negotiating vendor software subscriptions and enterprise agreements
Experience establishing and governing an enterprise IT Service Portfolio and Service Catalog
Familiarity with ITSM frameworks (FitSM, ITIL, ISO/IEC 20000)
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum/Kanban mindsets and practices
Ability to translate customer requirements and performance metrics into operational actions
Documentation and reporting of performance data to improve service quality
Experience with Configuration management for IT services
Experience implementing active monitoring and incident response

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary on-site leadership lead at the customer facility and engage with government sponsors, facility leadership, and program managers
Lead customer-facing technical meetings and translate mission objectives into IT/software roadmaps
Define and maintain the SGSS IT Service Portfolio across lifecycle stages
Apply ITSM principles (FitSM/ITIL) to standardize delivery, change management, and configuration tracking
Lead the DevOps workgroup, organize sprint cadences, and mature CI/CD practices
Track and manage IT and infrastructure budgets, contracts, and licensing
Collaborate with Service Desk to review metrics and ensure SLA adherence
Coordinate with IT Lead to support uptime, storage, and networking for satellite software teams
Evaluate equipment and services through cost-performance-risk analyses
Ensure compliance and audit-readiness per NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, and DoD cloud guidelines
Brief performance data to executives and customer leadership
