Job summary

enGen seeks an operational leader to head the data governance team in IT project contexts. You will set enterprise standards, oversee the Data Marketplace, and guide the transition from data silos to certified data products.

The role involves coordinating with Data Owners, Stewards, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive governance across 18 domains. Responsibilities include managing risk, improving processes, budgeting, and mentoring a high-performance team.

Qualifications

• 5 years in a leadership/mentoring role.
• 5 years of planning, implementing, maintaining and growing capabilities within relevant discipline.
• 3 years of developing, communicating and presenting concepts to varying audience.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, managing customer expectations and representing Highmark externally.
• Prepare procedures, policies, reports and correspondence; collaborate with corporate-wide departments.
• Collaborate with customers, staff, IT colleagues, and stakeholders to identify requirements and assess impacts.
• Manage Data Owners and Stewards across 18 domains; facilitate the Shared Enterprise Data Governance Council to resolve cross-domain definition conflicts.
• Identify issues and present solutions to clients; tailor presentations to audiences of varying levels.
• Implement recommendations and ensure client receives necessary assistance to carry out solutions.
• Liaise with clients to keep them informed of progress and decisions.
• Advise on options, risks, cost vs benefit, and impact on processes and system priorities.
• Ensure continuous improvement of processes and delivery within the unit.
• Organize and coordinate cross-functional activities; encourage innovation.
• Apply quantitative risk assessment to assignments; develop contingency plans.
• Provide leadership to respond to business opportunities/challenges, new technologies, legislation and other environmental factors.
• Oversee analysis of issues, assess impact of strategic changes, and manage activities within the unit.
• Organize Governance activities to unblock high-priority products.
• Develop and manage departmental plans and budgets; ensure compliance with standards.
• Establish metrics to benchmark operational excellence.
• Develop and implement short-term and long-term departmental plans.
