Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking an experienced IT Audit/Data Governance professional to assess risks across data and AI initiatives. The role focuses on evaluating AI, data management, and emerging technologies within large transformation programs for senior leadership insights.

The position requires strong audit discipline, collaboration with Audit Services teams, business units, and corporate functions, and the ability to translate complex risks into clear messages.

Qualifications

• 4–5+ years in IT audit, technology risk, or related systems.
• Ability to quickly understand new and emerging technology and articulate risks.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate implementation of data and AI standards and FFIEC guidance in complex systems.
• Evaluate management of next generation data architecture patterns (Data Mesh) and tools like Collibra.
• Assess risks of AI use cases including Copilot suite and retrieval-augmented pipelines.
• Assess blockchain architecture and use cases around carbon and digital assets.
• Lead or contribute to independent audits of transformation programs and communicate risk to senior leaders.
