Physicians Mutual Insurance Company is seeking an IT Auditor or Senior IT Auditor to join our Internal Audit team in Omaha, NE. You will evaluate IT controls, cybersecurity measures and data governance across systems and processes, providing independent insights to leadership.

In this role you’ll plan risk-based audits, analyze cloud, data analytics and third-party technology risks, and translate findings into practical recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, accounting, cybersecurity, data analytics or related field.
• 2–5 years IT audit/IT risk experience for IT Auditor; 5+ years for Senior IT Auditor; certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of IT controls and risk assessment; familiarity with NIST/COBIT/ISO 27001 or CIS Controls.
• Strong analytical, communication skills; experience with cloud and data analytics tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform risk-based IT audits focusing on technology and business risks.
• Assess environments, processes and systems to understand risk exposure and mitigation effectiveness.
• Evaluate cybersecurity, cloud, data, application and third-party technology risks.
• Identify emerging technology risks and assess potential impact on operations and strategy.
• Use data analytics to identify trends, anomalies and risks requiring deeper evaluation.
• Translate technology risks into clear, business-focused insights and recommendations.
• Partner with leaders to understand changes in systems and environment that introduce new risks.
• Provide an independent risk perspective on system implementations, cloud migrations, AI, and automation.
• Monitor identified risks and actions to evaluate risk exposure addressed.
