Senior IT Application/Platform Director, IT/OT Application Digital Solutions

Location: Austin, TX | White Plains, NY | Chicago, IL — Hybrid, 3 days/week onsite required

Compensation: $200,000 – $240,000 + 25% Bonus

Note: Recent experience in large tech companies (e.g., Amazon, Google, Meta) or large energy companies is a major advantage.

Our growing energy client seeks a Senior Director to lead their organization, overseeing product development, support, and operations across critical business systems. This strategic leader will drive agile transformation, implement DevOps practices, and guide large-scale initiatives such as cloud adoption and application rationalization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the IT/OT Digital Solutions applications group of 25 staff, including three product teams, managing over 400 applications (many COTS).
2. Define and execute enterprise application and product strategies aligned with broader tech goals.
3. Manage budgets and performance across the application portfolio.
4. Transition the organization to Agile/DevOps models with embedded cross-functional teams.
5. Set governance standards for application development and technical documentation.
6. Optimize cloud operations and reduce technical debt.
7. Ensure system reliability, compliance, and cybersecurity through measurable OKRs and SLAs.
8. Collaborate with business leadership, technical teams, and external partners to deliver applications across the energy value chain.
9. Modernize application portfolios and streamline redundant tools using next-gen technologies.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years in enterprise IT/digital innovation, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
• Expertise in Azure/cloud operations, SDLC, Agile, DevOps, and product delivery.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel to field locations and other offices as needed.
• Proven success managing large-scale application environments in energy or enterprise industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Certifications such as Scrum Master or CSDP are a plus.
