Hover is seeking a service-minded IT Administrator for our New York, NY office who will be the first IT contact for 300+ employees. You’ll primarily support macOS and cloud-based tools, own issues end-to-end, and drive root-cause analysis to deliver a great internal experience.

You’ll help improve IT services with a collaborative team, manage SSO in Okta, support onboarding, and keep networks, conferencing, and AV running as Hover grows. This hybrid role offers a competitive salary and equity.

You won’t just keep the lights on. Alongside a small, highly collaborative IT team, you’ll help continuously improve how we deliver IT services, contributing ideas and initiatives that make our systems more reliable, scalable, and user‑friendly over time. At Hover, IT is a true business partner. We work closely with teams across the company—from People Ops and Workplace to Engineering, Sales, and Recruiting—to build and automate systems that expand what those teams can do. We also partner with Security to protect accounts, devices, and data, supporting company‑wide security practices and ongoing SOC 2 compliance.

You will contribute by:

In this role, you’ll serve as the first point of contact for IT support at Hover, working directly with employees through Jira, Slack, and in‑person interactions to resolve issues quickly and thoughtfully. You’ll take ownership of problems from start to finish, digging into root causes and delivering reliable solutions that help teammates stay productive. You’ll also play a key role in the hire‑to‑retire experience, ensuring new employees have a great first day through system setup, hardware provisioning, and live onboarding support. You’ll manage our SSO authentication environment in Okta for internal user access, maintaining security groups, building out SAML integrations, and evolving the system as appropriate as user identity innovations occur. In partnership with our Workplace teams in San Francisco and New York, you’ll help keep office networks, conferencing systems, and AV technology running smoothly, while continuously improving how IT services are delivered as Hover grows.

Your background includes:

• 2-4 years of experience providing end-to-end IT support in a fast‑growing start‑up environment, predominantly in macOS with some Windows
• Cloud‑first thinking with hands‑on experience working with the latest SaaS IT systems, including Jamf, Google Workspace, Okta, Intune, etc.
• A demonstrated track record of managing SAML IDP environments, specifically in Okta. You have advanced experience implementing Zero Trust, Device Trust, and certificate‑based identity management.
• Use of one or more common IT helpdesk systems to manage requests (Jira Service Management preferred), with experience improving usability and automation in that platform
• Experience creating a productive office environment by deploying and maintaining simple and reliable conference room systems, networking, and desk technologies
• Proven analytical and creative problem‑solving abilities, with the ability to dig into root causes and core issues behind sometimes ambiguous customer requests
• Ability to juggle multiple–often competing–priorities and triage issues by severity and urgency
• A solid understanding of the risks and opportunities of AI in today’s workplace, both for IT use and the company as a whole
• Previous experience working towards individual and team service level agreements for customer satisfaction, ticket response rates, and ticket closure rates

Nice to have:

• Apple Certified Support Professional certification or equivalent
• Okta Certified Professional
• Endpoint vulnerability detection and remediation experience: EDR, CrowdStrike Falcon, etc.
• Experience responding to evidence collection requests for SOC 2 Type II or similar security compliance frameworks

Hybrid roles at Hover

Hover has Hubs in San Francisco and New York City, where we expect that all employees living within a 50-mile radius of our offices will come into their local Hover office at least three times a week to build rapport and foster organic connection. At this time, Hover is not considering fully remote roles.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $114,000-$141,000 annually. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all applicable US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
