Job summary

Waabi, a leader in Physical AI, is expanding its Texas operations and seeks an onsite Senior IT Engineer in Lancaster to support networks, compute, and storage. You will build high-performance clusters, automate deployments, and ensure secure, scalable infrastructure for engineering and research teams.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage Linux servers, and implement multi-site, high-throughput networks across cloud providers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Compute, Support and Hardware teams.
• Coordinate with facility management to ensure HVAC, cabling, UPS functionality.
• Proactively seek opportunities to automate and improve systems.
• Engage in physical activities with accommodation up to ~50 pounds.

In light of our operational expansion and anticipated increase in activity in Texas, the recruitment of an on-site IT Engineer will help with the ramp up.

The Senior IT Engineer will be responsible for supporting critical IT initiatives such as Network upgrades, building and managing compute and storage clusters as well as providing essential on-vehicle technical assistance. Key responsibilities will include ensuring network stability, implementing security measures, automating system deployments, and offering dedicated support to the engineering and research teams. This strategic hire will help maintain operational efficiency and support the integration of advanced technologies within our expanding Texas operations.

You will:

• Design and expand high-performance networks, computing, and storage.
• Lead security initiatives and ensure compliance with security standards.
• Oversee incident response planning and execution, ensuring timely and effective handling of security incidents.
• Manage a fleet of linux servers including deployment, maintenance and upgrades.
• Automate network and server deployments using Ansible, Terraform, etc.
• Manage strict documentation of Network and Server infrastructure.
• Work closely with Infrastructure, Compute, Support and Hardware teams
• Coordinate closely with facility management to ensure HVAC, Cabling runs, UPS are functional.
• Continuously look for opportunities to automate and improve systems.
• You will be required to engage in physical activities with accommodation - lifting and moving material up to ~50 pounds.

Requirements

This position is an onsite position that will require onsite 5 days per week in Lancaster.

The US yearly salary range for this role is: $117,000 - $172,000 USD in addition to competitive perks & benefits. Waabi (US) Inc.’s yearly salary ranges are determined based on several factors in accordance with the Company’s compensation practices. The salary base range is reflective of the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Note: The Company provides additional compensation for employees in this role, including equity incentive awards and an annual performance bonus.
