Bcore is seeking a Senior Information System Security Officer to join our Tysons, Virginia team. The role focuses on driving the A&A process for government information systems, identifying risks, and hardening security across a hybrid‑cloud environment.

Ideal candidates will have 10+ years of cybersecurity experience or a degree with 5+ years in the field, strong collaboration with developers and ISSMs, and deep knowledge of NIST 800‑53, tools like Elasticsearch, Splunk, and Rapid7.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10+ years applied experience or relevant degree plus 5 years of cybersecurity expertise with demonstrated ability to shepherd IT projects through the authorization lifecycle.
• Experience supporting assessment and authorization tracking tools and processes.
• Knowledgeable about CCP requirements, NIST 800-53 and cloud security practices.
• Experience working with stakeholders, developers, and ISSMs to meet security objectives.

Responsibilities

• Support assessment and authorization (A&A) for information systems.
• Collaborate with developers and engineers on secure hybrid‑cloud environments.
• Identify risks, vulnerabilities, and anomalies; patch and harden systems.
• Document and review CONOPS, security plans, and incident response procedures.
• Communicate security posture to leadership and customers.
