Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior ISSO to support a government customer onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD. You will lead RMF and ATO activities, mentor ISSOs, and drive risk analysis while coordinating with security, engineering and leadership.

The role requires TS clearance with SCI eligibility and extensive experience in DoD/government systems. You will communicate risk clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders and ensure continuous monitoring and compliance across the environment.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• 12+ years with BS/BA; 10+ years with MS/MA (4 years may substitute for BS)
• 8+ years in information security/compliance for DoD/IC or government systems, owning RMF deliverables and ATOs
• Demonstrated leadership coordinating across security, engineering and customer stakeholders
• Ability to mentor team members and write risk decisions/packages that withstand assessor scrutiny
• Deep understanding of continuous monitoring at scale and RMF tasks
• Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 controls and security configurations

Responsibilities

• Lead or co-lead ATO/reauthorization efforts for complex boundary systems
• Mentor junior ISSOs and shape security operations playbooks
• Perform risk analysis and author formal recommendations to leadership
• Drive security engineering outcomes by partnering with internal teams on scalable compliance patterns
• Brief senior stakeholders on security posture, systemic risk trends, remediation burn-down, and authorization readiness
• Act as the Senior ISSO across the system security lifecycle from development to operations
• Execute and maintain RMF activities and continuous monitoring evidence
• Maintain authorization artifacts (SSP, POA&M, control narratives, diagrams)
• Review changes for security impact and validate configurations after major upgrades
• Support incident response, containment actions, and post-incident lessons learned
• Ensure least privilege and access governance with periodic reviews and audits
• Translate security requirements into testable guidance for engineering teams
