Job summary

Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to lead security efforts, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and industry best practices. The ISSO will develop unclassified, SAP, and TS/SCI ATO packages and support security across SDL’s Albuquerque operations.

The role requires hands‑on experience with JSIG/AFIC ATO processes, NIST RMF, and vulnerability management, with occasional travel to support DoD partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, CS, information assurance, or related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in information systems security, cybersecurity, or related fields.
• Hands‑on experience with the JSIG and AFIC TS/SCI ATO development process.
• 8570/8140 IAT Level 1 certification or greater.
• Knowledge of NIST 800-53 RMF, FISMA, and DoD security controls.
• Experience reviewing SSP/POA&M and related security artifacts for ATO readiness.
• Ability to support Incident Response Plan execution, including Data Spillage Cleanup.
• Ability to prepare ConMon reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.).
• Experience recommending security software packages for secure spaces.
• Demonstrated hands‑on ATO development for SAP/AFIC/unclassified ATOs.
• U.S. citizen with active TS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead security compliance, risk management, and RMF activities.
• Oversee incident response planning and continuous monitoring efforts.
• Develop security policies and ensure audit readiness and documentation.
• Collaborate with program, IT, and security teams to strengthen SDL’s posture.
• Interface with DoD/Government agencies as needed.
• Produce professional test/event reports for system owners and staff.
