Job summary

WOOD Federal Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) at mid to senior level in Annapolis Junction, MD.

The role focuses on security architecture, RMF, vulnerability testing, risk assessment, and secure design across a large, distributed mission environment. You will work with engineering, integration, testing, and program teams to shape security requirements and enforce policies.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience as an ISSE on a large technical program.
• Experience applying Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Experience formulating and assessing IT security policy.
• Knowledge of Nessus, NMAP, and Wireshark.
• Experience with secure configurations of desktop and server OS.
• Ability to work on multiple systems and configurations.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Capable of planning and prioritizing tasks and communicating trade-offs.
• Able to work independently and in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Validate and verify system security requirements and designs for large-scale systems.
• Identify information security architectures and enterprise solutions for uniform policy enforcement.
• Develop technical solutions, products, and standards based on security architecture.
• Assess and mitigate threats and risks throughout the program life cycle.
• Lead security planning, risk analysis, certification and awareness activities.
• Collaborate with internal technical experts daily.
• Communicate security issues with program managers and customer points of contact.
• Participate in program increment planning and agile activities.
• Ensure hardware/software architecture meets security requirements.
• Evaluate security solutions against customer requirements.
