Sigma Defense is seeking a Senior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to join our Rome, NY team. The role emphasizes RMF, Zero Trust, and cloud security across Azure environments, requiring 8+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience.

The position calls for hands-on expertise with ACAS, Defender for Cloud, and Xacta, with a focus on automation, evidence collection, and continuous authorization. U.S. citizenship and clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in information systems security engineering or related technical discipline.
• Hands-on with ACAS for vulnerability scanning, remediation tracking, and validation.
• Experience implementing RMF and Zero Trust in RMF environments.
• Strong knowledge of Azure security technologies and cloud security architecture.
• Must be a U.S. citizen; active TS/SCI clearance or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support security controls across the system lifecycle as a senior cybersecurity engineer.
• Apply RMF within Zero Trust architectures, translating requirements into technical controls.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and continuous monitoring using ACAS.
• Analyze ACAS findings and drive remediation with engineering teams.
• Design and maintain security controls in Microsoft Azure environments.
• Develop and manage Azure Policy initiatives for compliance at scale.
• Utilize Defender for Cloud to improve cloud posture and workload protection.
• Advance Zero Trust principles across identity, device, network, and data security.
• Develop Xacta automation for RMF documentation and evidence collection.
• Automate security with Infrastructure as Code and integrate into deploy workflows.
• Collaborate with architects, DevSecOps, ISSOs, and cloud engineers.
