Job summary

Sigma Defense is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team in Rome, NY. The role focuses on implementing security controls across DoD-grade systems and Azure cloud environments, with emphasis on RMF, Zero Trust, and automation using ACAS, Xacta, and Defender for Cloud.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's degree in Cybersecurity Engineering, is a U.S. citizen, and can obtain an active TS/SCI clearance. Certifications include Security+ and CISSP; DoD experience a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience across information systems and Microsoft Azure.
• Experience implementing RMF, vulnerability assessments, and automation.
• DoD security requirements with ACAS, Zero Trust, Azure security, Azure Policy, Xacta.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security controls throughout the system lifecycle.
• Support RMF in accordance with DoD requirements.
• Assist with Zero Trust across systems, apps, cloud infrastructure, and supporting tech.
• Perform vulnerability scanning with ACAS and coordinate remediation.
• Review ACAS findings and guide remediation with teams.
• Support Azure security posture and Azure Policy initiatives.
• Assist with Xacta administration and RMF documentation.
• Support automation for security-control validation and monitoring.
• Contribute to IaC and infrastructure automation efforts.
