Job Overview
Designs, installs, monitors, trouble‑shoots, and repairs servers, network devices, LAN and WAN. Works with network security team using intrusion detection and prevention technologies. Installs and maintains servers, storage devices, network routers, firewalls, and switches. Provides first‑level support to Division LAN Managers and Infrastructure Support personnel. Travel to field offices for special projects as needed.
Essential Functions
- Administrative and technical work relative to the operation of the Division Infrastructure, including network, servers, and storage devices.
- Responsible for LAN/WAN functions and support including local and wide area networks, routers, switches, and other telecommunications equipment.
- Acquires, maintains and troubleshoots servers, systems, routers, and switches.
- Works with Division support personnel to prevent and resolve technical problems.
- IP internetworking design.
- Install, set up, manage and troubleshoot servers, including VMs.
- Install, set up, manage and troubleshoot network disk arrays and storage devices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Five years' experience in LAN/WAN administration.
- CCNA certification.
- CCNP certification.
- Good knowledge of Cisco equipment.
- Good knowledge of VOIP technologies.
- Good knowledge of VPN solutions.
- Good knowledge of all routing protocols.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Must have good communication skills.
Special Job Characteristics
- Travels 30% of the time to provide support for divisions, as needed.
- Willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
- Required to be on call 24x7.
