Job summary

Peraton seeks an Information Systems Audit Engineer to lead financial audit readiness, information systems audit compliance, and internal controls oversight for the BASIS program. The role interfaces with Government stakeholders and external audit bodies to ensure rigorous, timely audit activities and artifacts.

The position emphasizes developing and maintaining compliance frameworks, CAPs, and audit readiness processes across the DEERS portfolio, including alignment with NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Progressive experience in information systems audit, financial audit readiness, or internal controls in DoD or Federal government environments.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with FIAR, FISCAM, FFMIA, OMB Circular A-123, and ICOFR frameworks and their application within DoD IT systems.
• Experience supporting or leading external DoD financial audits involving the OIG, GAO, OUSD(C), DHA, or equivalent audit bodies.
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) and managing audit findings remediation from identification through closure.
• Experience responding to PBC data calls and preparing audit artifacts and system control demonstrations for external examiners.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior advisor and primary point of contact for all DoD financial audit engagements, including DHA MERHCF, DoD CIO ICOFR, FIAR, and SSAE engagements.
• Provide comprehensive material and personnel support during external audit examinations, producing all required digital artifacts and deliverables per audit criteria and timelines.
• Respond to PBC data calls issued by external auditors, including OIG, GAO, OUSD(C), and other external audit bodies.
• Actively demonstrate system controls to auditors to support DMDC application and systems control objectives during examinations.
• Advise program leadership and Government on strategies to address findings and recommendations; evaluate and provide recommendations for adjudication.
