Job summary

Berger Steel Corp. seeks an Experienced Field Foreman Ironworker/Welder to lead welding on structural iron and steel erection projects. Most work is in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento Region.

Full-time permanent role with overtime; must be within commuting distance to pick up the company truck. Requirements include 5+ years as a foreman in structural steel, welding NR-232 cert, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Reading erection drawings/plans is required.
• 5+ years experience as a Structural Steel / Misc. Erector foreman with supervisory experience.
• Welding certification (NR-232) is required.
• Driver's License with clean record is required.
• Overnight stay in the Bay Area may be needed and company provides hotel & per diem.

Responsibilities

• Careful initial planning of the job from erection drawings and plans.
• Use cranes to lift and guide steel components into position.
• Read crane signals and coordinate movements.
• Align and level components before bolting and welding them.
• Access high sections with MEWP, ladders, and lifts; forklift/boom lift certs are a plus.
• Install decking and safety railing as structure rises.
• Strict adherence to OSHA guidelines at all times.
