The role develops and implements intellectual property strategies for AbbVie's products, collaborates with R&D and business teams, and drafts/prosecutes patent applications worldwide to maximize competitive position.

Qualifikationen

• JD degree from an accredited law school; bar admission enabling in-house practice; USPTO registration.
• 10+ years of patent law experience at a law firm or life sciences company, including U.S. and foreign prosecution.
• Technical background relevant for pharmaceutical patent prosecution (small molecules/biologics) or related field.
• Strong legal, analytical, communication, collaboration, and people skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines.

Aufgaben

• Generate and implement IP strategies across therapeutic areas and technologies, including large and small molecules.
• Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications worldwide, including managing outside counsel.
• Work with scientists to maximize AbbVie's IP position.
• Provide legal advice to cross-functional R&D and business teams on IP matters.
• Challenge and defend patents in post-grant proceedings and related matters.
