Job summary

Weekday AI seeks senior intellectual property professionals to design evaluation tasks for AI systems within patent prosecution, licensing, and IP enforcement contexts. The role spans the US track (35 U.S.C., MPEP, USPTO procedure) and international track (EPC, PCT, WIPO treaties), with experts in either or both tracks encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include drafting reference outputs, and rubrics that reflect senior IP counsel thinking.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as an IP attorney or patent agent at a top firm or corporate IP dept.
• Direct ownership of patent prosecution portfolios, licensing negotiations, or IP litigation matters.
• Fluency with IP tooling and procedures (USPTO/EPO).
• JD with bar admission; USPTO patent bar or international equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Construct IP scenarios spanning prosecution and portfolio strategy, disputes, licensing or technology transfer.
• Build tasks across prosecution, IP litigation and enforcement, licensing, and freedom-to-operate analysis.
• Develop scenarios involving IP tools and docketing systems used in major IP practices.
• Apply patentability analysis, claim construction, and FTO to US and international standards.
• Author rubrics distinguishing authentic IP judgment from generic recall.
