Job summary

SMX is seeking a Senior Intellectual Property / Data Rights Analyst in Huntsville, AL to perform IP analytical work on a government weapon system project office. You will research IP rights, data rights frameworks, CDRLs, and support the life cycle sustainment plan, with responsibilities across CDRL research, risk assessment, and briefings for senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of experience in intellectual property analysis, including 3+ years in data rights assessments.
• Degree substitution: 11 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Familiarity with laws and policies covering Data Rights such as FARs, DFARS, Army Directive 2018-26, 10 USC 2320, DODI 5230.44, and 5010.44.
• Experience in a government acquisitions office handling IP and Data Rights assertions.
• Knowledge of US Army staffing processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Research IP and Data Rights assertions and related CDRLs.
• Analyze lifecycle sustainment data and life cycle plans for weapon systems.
• Support briefings to Division Chief and Project Manager on IP/Data Rights matters.
• Evaluate Data Rights aspects of technical data packages to identify risks.
• Provide analysis to Working Groups on IP Data Rights issues.
• Develop a repository for IP and Data Rights assertions during weapon system development.
• Support Army Aviation acquisition efforts to secure necessary data rights.
